An Introduction to Kodály for the Orff-Schulwerk Educator

In this chapter share, educators will experience and introduction to Kodaly pedagogy—the three phases (prepare, present, and practice) and the traditional scope and sequence for musical concepts for schools in the United States. Break out groups will facilitate conversations among colleagues to compare Orff-Schulwerk pedagogy to Kodaly.
Presenter, Dr. Jennifer Campbell, serving her third year as Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Music Education at The College of Saint Rose, where she facilitates the growth of preservice music educators at every level. She is proud to serve as the advisor of the Collegiate NAfME chapter and also conducts the Women’s Chorale.
